Pushing that chisel towards your hand/arm while you are physically holding the pieces down is sketchy and an accident waiting to happen... I had to hold my breath as you muscled through those lap joint scenes. invest or use a clamp or two and save yourself some losses and future down time. Its just a matter of time till the gotcha moment happens.

I like this build. Simple, direct. You might think about only making one side of the fence “square”. The other can actually be rounded and a little loose. The way the fence slides easily. Often times you don’t need the fence to be square to the table because you are using a cutter with a bearing. In that case the critical layout is the height of the cutter only. You won’t even use the fence. Keeping the fence plumb to the table surface will be more critical. Good RUclips! Thank you for sharing your creativity and your knowledge.

I got a bit queezy seeing him work with the chissel. I was teaching my son and his friend how to use a wood chissel a few years ago and as I was explaining to alway keep your had behind the business end of the chissel I accidently put mine in from and drove into my index finger. The sacrifices I make just to give my son a clear example.

Watched a few kitchen organization videos but didn't see any like this. Decided to search can food organizers. Saw this and it's exactly what I want to build. We have lots of canned foods and sitting them on shelves isn't working. Always end up putting new cans in front of older ones instead of rotating them to use the oldest first.

Really nice project. Thanks for sharing it. If the table isn't quite as stable as you'd like, you might stiffen the back side and possible even the back side of the sides with a couple of plywood gussets at the top. If I do this, I'd also add a dust collection port on the back of the fence.
